Empowerment Through Connection & Self-Trust

You were born knowing…
How to figure out what you need or want, and how to ask for it. The meaning of beauty, health, wisdom, and worthiness. When you’re hungry and when you’re full. What clothes and colors you like. How much you want to be with others or experience solitude. When a situation or person feels safe and secure or dangerous and distressing. What you hold to be important versus less so. Ideas about how to be happy or satisfied.
And then, other ideas, insights, knowledges, and complexities came on board…
Some of that has been incredible. It’s given you a common language and shared set of expectations and norms with those around you. You’ve learned valuable skills, gotten excited about the world around you, and move through life with irreplacable knowledge.
But it’s also saddled you with expectations and burdens that don’t quite fit, aren’t nurturing, and stand in the way of joyful connection – with yourself and the world around you. And experiences in family and society as a whole have left you with stowaways like coping habits that have long overstayed their welcome, worries that are far too loud, and messages about yourself that just don’t fit. It’s leaves you seeking support and clarity.
What if there were a way to amplify and build upon the good stuff while sifting through and revising what just doesn’t fit?
That’s what therapy at Recourse Counseling in Phoenix/Scottsdale is all about!

I’m Halina and I’m glad you’re here.
Good therapy goes beyond simply teaching skills or delivering a cookie-cutter intervention. Working together with you to name our goals, visualize the changes we’re pursuing, and then carefully create a plan to get there are all key. I love to support teens, adults, families, and couples in strengthening relationships, deepening their joy, managing distress and anxiety, and illuminating purpose in their lives.
During our time together, we’ll collaborate to bring meaningful change. Outside of session, I’ll take a deep dive into the research, strategies, and best practices for your unique context. And, as we move through treatment, you might amaze yourself with just how much strength and insight you already have within you!
As a licensed associate counselor and marriage and family therapist under supervision in Arizona, I believe it is my job to never stop learning and to stay curious about all that’s out there to help support my clients on their path. I am also an educator and advocate for the highest ethical standards within the healthcare community.
One of the most supportive things a therapist can do is help you tune in, trust yourself, and bring your own wisdom to life.
